Privacy policy

This site keeps things simple. The only personal information it will ever ask for is your email address, and only when you choose to subscribe to the weekly briefing. Here is exactly what happens with it.

Last updated: September 7, 2026

What I collect

When you subscribe, you give me your email address. That is the only personal data the site collects from you directly. I do not ask for your name, your company, or anything else at signup. If you reply to an email, I also see whatever you write in that reply.

How I use it

Your email address will be used for one purpose: to send you the weekly briefing and the welcome sequence that comes with it, including the Orbit starter guide. I do not sell, rent, or trade your email address, and I do not share it with anyone except the service providers below who help deliver the emails.

Who processes your data

A small number of trusted third parties help run this site. Each one handles only the data it needs to do its job:

  • Beehiiv stores your email address and delivers the newsletter. Your subscription is managed in their system. See the Beehiiv privacy policy for how they handle data.
  • Plausible Analytics (when enabled) measures page views in aggregate. It is privacy friendly by design: it uses no cookies and does not collect or store any personal or identifiable information about visitors.

Cookies and tracking

This site does not use advertising cookies or cross site trackers. Analytics, when enabled, are cookieless and anonymous. Your browser may store a small preference locally, but nothing that identifies you is sent anywhere.

How to unsubscribe

You can leave at any time. Every email includes a one click unsubscribe link at the bottom. Once you unsubscribe, you stop receiving emails right away, and you can ask to have your address removed entirely by contacting me.

Your choices

You can ask to see what data I hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted. Because the only data is your email address, this is usually as fast as an unsubscribe plus a short note to me.

Contact

Questions about privacy, or a request about your data? Reply to any issue of the Systems for Life newsletter and I will respond personally.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will appear on this page with a new date at the top. Material changes that affect how your data is used will be noted in the newsletter.
